Stairs
 |
 |
| Before |
After |
| This is a view of the same staircase after a
complete alteration and renovation.
The strings and the newel posts were stripped back to the original bare
faced timber. New string capping, balustrades, handrails, newel capping,
and apron lining were fitted. After all the new timbers were in place,
staining and varnish were added to provide the required finish.
As you can see a complete transformation to this stairway.

Under stair cupboard |
 |
This staircase which originally was just
open underneath now has a sizable cupboard fitted.
The skirting board was fitted to run over the door, which when closed
blends in perfectly.
This project has created a large usable storage cupboard, very useful
for all those items you just don't know where to put!
As many houses have electric meters under the stairs, this cupboard
also provides security from those curious little hands.

Completed projects.
As you can see from this picture taken before work commences, quite a
large storage area can be gained from utilising this under stair opening.

Working in conjunction with the clients requirements, this project
incorporates four draws, tailor made to fit neatly into the available
opening. A door hung either side of the draw unit, completes the
transformation and utilisation of this under stair opening.
As you can see the stain/varnish was matched as near as possible to the
original finish used on the stair case. |
